Mr Lawn is the instant lawn division of Twingrace PTY Ltd.  We are instant lawn producers, meaning that we farm LM grass on our own farm outside Brits on the R104 Road (Old Pretoria / Rustenburg road).  Landscapers, developers, lawn installation guys, garden services and many lawn re-sellers buy from our farm to re-sell to the public.  The good news is that YOU (general public) can buy directly from our farm at the same wholesale price!  By doing so, you save a lot of money and the cherry on top:  When we run a special, you save even more!  How's that for a bargain?!

We took some time to put together helpful information to help you DIY your own lawn successfully and answered general questions we are often asked by customers.  Also, Marina (one of our directors) recently developed the Measurements Calculator to help you calculate the correct quantity to buy.  For those not so hot at math we even added instructions and pictures to help you take the headache out of garden measurements.  Should you need any additional information, send us an Email.

DIFFERENCE BETWEEN LM AND KIKUYU INSTANT LAWN

Although we only farm LM instant lawn, we've listed the differences between LM and Kikuyu below to help you choose which lawn will be best for your garden / project:

LM Instant Lawn is the most popular garden lawn - especially for shady gardens.

>  Grows in both sun and shade.

>  Soft feel with broad leaves and carpet-like growth.

>  Non-aggressive grower with shallow roots.  It will not invade your flower beds and paving.

>  Semi-hardy but not for severe frosted and/or hot and dry areas.

>  Does not perform well in high traffic areas.

>  Water 2 times per week.  (Shallow roots needs less water at a time, but more often)

>  Do not cover completely with topsoil!  Only a very thin layer to expose leaves once a year ONLY IF NEEDED.

>  Do not cut very short to expose rhizomes and roots.  Set lawn mower on medium hight.

Kikuyu Instant Lawn is the most popular high traffic lawn.

>  Works well for full sun gardens, ball parks, school playgrounds and other high-traffic areas.

>  Kikuyu grows only in full sun.  The grass will literally grow away from shady areas, leaving open soil spaces.

>  Thin leaves with sharp tip.  Not a soft, play-friendly grass.

>  Very aggressive grower.  Will invade flowerbeds and paving very quickly.  Needs to be cleaned every week.

>  Hardy grass and can stand low and high temperatures due to very deep roots.

>  Can be watered once a week for a longer period that water can reach deep roots.

>  Can be covered completely with topsoil.

>  Cut very short once a week.  It will grow back very quickly.  Cut during winter if needed.
